Well I hope I'm not boring anyone with the details of our vacation, and its taking me long enough to get it all down. But I am not only doing this to share, but also to make a record for myself, in case I ever get around to scrapbooking this

trip. Well this day, we spent the majority of our time at the Monterey bay aquarium. We knew that this would definitely be on the agenda, since Alyssa was sure to enjoy it, and she did. Our hotel was about 2 miles from the aquarium, so we decided to walk, enjoy the scenery, and save the hassle of parking. We explored the aquarium for a while, and then took a lunch break and

had some clam chowder at Cannery Row, and then went back for more sea creatures. My favorite part of the aquarium was probably the jelly fish exhibits and the kelp forest. The jellyfish were magnificent, and they had all colors and sizes and shapes on display. The kelp forest was a three story tank with all kinds of sea creatures swimming around, as well as a scuba diver feeding the fish and answering questions from the crowd. Alyssa's favorite was the kid's play area complete with all kinds of water play, tunnels, and a slide. We finished off the day with a drive down to Carmel to watch the sunset on the beach. But the highlight of the day was actually nontrip related; we got a pix message from my sister Larissa of a positive pregnancy test. Woohoo! Another niece or nephew! Its exciting too, because our new baby and their's will only be about 4 months apart.
